my heart remains in seoul

i think one of the best memories of you and i..
are the times we rode together on your bike..
down the streets in Seoul.
i'm used to riding on a bike, a motorcycle at that,
so at times, i wouldn't hold on tight to you.
but then there were times where i couldn't hold tight enough.
and the times i didn't, i now wish i had.
with my arms wrapped around your waist,
and my chin leaning on your shoulder,
we raced down the streets, breaking the law,
running red lights, and passing bright signs,
i was truly in love with you.

do you remember the time it started raining?
it was pouring, as hard as it could.
i was holding you so tightly, and just laughing.
we had to maintain a certain speed on the road,
and i remember...
you had said it was dangerous to ride in the rain...
but i simply couldn't stop smiling and giggling.
in seconds, we were soaking wet and freezing.
eventually you pulled off down a small street,
and we waited until the heavy rain stopped.

or the time we lost the motel we had stayed at one night.
we couldn't find it for about an hour.
going down small side streets and alleys on your bike,
trying to recognize the places we had already been,
and going by the bright signs on buildings to guide us.
i can't believe we actually found the motel.
and that night was one of the best nights.

i can't even imagine anything better than the times i spent with you in Korea.
you can trust me when i say that i will never forget those times,
because they are honestly my favorite memories.
i'm truly happy that you were apart of them.
and i'll always be happy to know that for a short while,
i was the reason for your smile.

i will never forget you

this is what i said in Japanese to Yohei's mother...

"thank you very much for everything
i appreciate everything you have done so much
you are the nicest person i have ever met
my experience in Japan became much better because of you
i will never forget you
thank you for treating me as if i was your own daughter"

the japanese i wrote may be slightly wrong, but i tried haha
